Tranquil Game

Painting is fun, and an enjoyment.  While conversing with artists, one feels drawn to their deep sense of paper as a medium. The rich interaction of water, ink and pigment with paper is such that it brings a game-like feel, and at the meantime, leads one into the picture and savors its tranquility and charm.

Wei Ligang pursues the contemporary evolution of calligraphy. His art touches upon the profound cultures of tradition but yet is filled with contemporary spirit. Li Tingting portrays daily objects with unique and sensitive observations. Her paintings breathe peace of mind and an air of style. Hang Chunhui uses personified baby bears as his main subject matter, and his recent work employs light to further explore the language of ink painting. Wu Xuelian’s work reveals a pure appreciation of beauty-, depicting oneself playing basketball on campus, which brings back the fond memories of lonesome youth.  George Chang is adept at creating a fantasy world by reconstructing the here and now. He keeps a special space for his heart and creative thoughts.
