——抽象艺术作品展

       不管是面对官方的主流美学体系，还是面对当代艺术新贵，“中国抽象艺术”一直都显得有点自甘边缘，但边缘也恰恰赋予了抽象艺术在主流视野之外自我发展与保持独立的空间。在中国当代艺术跌宕起伏的江湖之外，有这么一群抽象艺术家——他们一直在自己认定的方向上持续前行，并随着时间的推移，日益显示出其自身的独立价值与不俗的品味。

       应该看到，当下的“中国抽象艺术”所对应的早已不再是现代主义的形式语言研究。通过主动的将个人体验与艺术创作相连，艺术家将艺术创作转化为了一种富于“体验性”的日复一日的“劳作”。在这个过程中，看似无意义的“时间性”化解了流行的肤浅观念与盲目批判，个人的自觉“禅修”消解了宏大叙事的理论构想，同时，“修行”这个概念的频繁提及，也显示出中国抽象艺术与逐渐苏醒的本土文化自觉之间的微妙联系。
 由此可以看出，西方式的“纯粹精神”不再是中国抽象艺术所追随的目标，“抽象”只是一个表面，其实质上带有了“叙事性”与“观念性”，这是“中国抽象”所独有的。

       我们认为，现在的当务之急是理顺中国抽象在本土艺术史中的上下文关系，建立和明确自身的美学追求，从而将中国抽象艺术作为中国当代艺术本土化建构的新的突破口，为东、西方的交流与资源转换，传统与现代的融汇树立起一个有价值的视觉样本，这也是我们举办本次展览的目的所在。

——Abstract art exhibition
Whether faced the official aesthetic system, or faced upstarts of contemporary art, “Chinese abstract art” has always been seemed marginalized by itself. However, the marginalization gives Chinese abstract art space besides mainstream view for self-development and remaining independent. Besides up and down in Chinese contemporary art, there is a group of abstract artists, who having been moving on their own directions, and increasingly showing their own independent value and good taste as time goes on.
It should be noted, the moment of "Chinese abstract art" is no longer corresponding to the form language study of modernist. According to connect personal experience with art works actively, artists transform art creations into one kind of rich “experience labor” day after day. In this process, seemingly meaningless "timing" dissolved the popular superficial concept and blind criticism, and individual consciousness "meditation" deconstructed the theory conception of grand narrative. Meanwhile, the concept of “practice” was mentioned frequently. It also demonstrates the subtle contact between Chinese abstract art and the local cultural consciousness which is gradually awakening.
It can be seen that western-style “pure spirit” is no longer the goal followed by Chinese abstract art. "Abstract" is just a surface, and it is "narrative" and "conceptual" in essence, which is the unique characteristic of “Chinese abstract”.
We believe that the task now is to straighten out the context relationship of Chinese abstract in local art history, then establish and clear our own aesthetic pursuit. Further more, Chinese abstract to be seemed as a new breakthrough for constructing the Chinese contemporary art localization, it establishes a valuable visual sample for exchange and resources conversion between east and west, and fusion with tradition and modern. This is also why we organize the exhibition.
