艺术家高岩松利用废弃的纸盒、品牌包装箱搭建起他的“庙”。在物质生活正全面取代精神生活的今天，信仰正紧随我们的传统审美一起被物化。印满各种品牌LOGO的商品包装上充满了虚伪不实的词句，我们的判断力也紧随这些夸张的描述而变的夸张。
包装盒是人们的日常垃圾，确又是如此精美的垃圾。垃圾又反复地变成垃圾，其目的只有一个，就是包装。庙宇作为一种传统的视觉审美符号被人们识别并不仅限于中国这片土地。它作为一种人类更高精神依托的殿堂，今天的意义已经不仅限于信仰。满山遍野的大小寺庙，人们匍匐在它的脚下祈求的究竟是什么。
高岩松在破旧纸箱上得到关于生活本身的灵感提示，让我们平时耳目能详的最平凡事物亲自开口说话，这不能说不“庙”。

The Temple, Gao Yansong’s Solo Exhibition
Beijing Art Now Gallery cordially invites you to attend The Temple, Gao Yansong’s Solo exhibition opening at 16:30 Saturday, 24th May, 2008.
Artist Gao Yansong has used abandoned paper boxes and commercial wrapping cases building up his own TEMPLE. While nowadays material life is on the way to almost utterly replace the position of spiritual life, religion believes have already been materialized with our traditional aesthetic. With all kinds of commodity brands Logo and overstated slogan printed on, the commercial products cases are singing price of the fiction but reality. It is not only the matter of our own, but also the issue that if the ability of our judgment is becoming numb as result of those exaggerating commercial descriptions. 
The commercial wrapping cases are human beings’ commodity trash, but meanwhile delicate in a way. However, as the trash transforms into another format of quotidian rubbish over again, it seems the only purpose of this is just for wrapping.

Temple, as a special symbol of traditional aesthetics, has been recognized not only in the boundary of China. Another role of Temples are the existence of the higher level spiritual reliance of human beings’, besides the religion believes. There are numerous temples throughout the mountains and lands, the big ones or the small ones; among them what are the people blending their knees down and really begging for?  
Gao Yansong got his inspirations towards the real subject of life from his daily experiences on the commercial paper boxes. He makes the most common box stuff which we have taken for granted, to speak out the message themselves. Can’t we say that this is MIAO (also the excellent in Chinese), or the Temple?
