艺术之为 严师尊道（代序）

        2000年，在四川成都南郊的牧马山侧，诞生了一座新型美术学院。岁月如梭，光阴荏苒，今年迎来建院10周年华诞。领军人物马一平院长，笃信管仲“十年树木百年树人”的名言，彰显“民族灵魂、现代精神”的人文理想之光，发扬锐意进取、开拓创新、尊师重教的优良学风，遵循美术教学规律，以改革为动力，刷新思维观念，以超常规的方式起步，走出一条跨越式发展的新路。回望10年创业路，一面白手起家办学兴教，一面授业解惑礼贤育人。冬去春来，播种收获，丰衣足食，桃李天下。

       “师道尊严”出自 《礼记·学记》：“凡学之道，严师为难。师严然后道尊，道尊然后民知敬学。”一指老师所传授知识的质量、数量、分量的越是精彩出色，越能得到尊重。二指为师之道的尊贵、庄严不可懈怠，以高尚的德行品位获得学子的认可与敬重。将上述说法转换至艺术之“师道”，则明确要求为师者学品与人品俱佳，德才兼备，方不辱师名与使命。此说进一步展开：要求为师者具有与时代同步的当代艺术创作与教学理念，优秀的艺术家与为师者并不矛盾，二者相得益彰，互为因果，共生共长。

        川音成都美院油画系，既是该学院推行开放式新型理念教学的排头兵，也是学院实验教学的一块学术品牌。从油画系的师资结构看，既有德艺双馨的资深艺术教育家，也有蜚声海内外的大牌艺术家，加之一批后劲十足并引起业内关注的年轻生力军，可谓营造了一支在国内绝不逊色的令人生畏生敬的油画教学队伍。今次展事，意义有二：一是对校庆华诞献礼，与莘莘学子及社会各界朋友分享快乐；二是用一席高品质的视觉盛宴，向业内和社会交上丰富而厚重的师资力量大考之答卷。教无止境，学无边界，艺无穷远，术有专攻。“我们今天是桃李芬芳，明天是社会的栋梁。”——《毕业歌》年年传唱，是对师道的褒奖，是对未来的畅想。

Accomplishments of Fine Arts  Respect for Teachers and Their Teaching

in 2000, a new concept art school was founded at the south of Muma Mountain in the southern suburb of Chengdu, Sichuan. Time flies, it is the 10th anniversary this year. President Ma Yiping is convinced by Guan Zhong’s famous saying that “it takes 10 years to grow trees but 100 years to nurture a generation of good men”, holds high the fine style of study of being progressive and innovative, respecting the teacher and his teaching along with the concept of “National Soul and Modern Spirit”, and innovates the thoughts and concepts with imitativeness as propulsion, carving a brand new way of leap-off development. Looking back to the past 10 years, he has been running the school from nothing on one hand and teaching students on the other. Years pass by, now it is time for harvest.

“Teachers’ Dignity” comes from the Book of Rites: “it is hard to be a good teacher; one shall respect the teacher and respect his teaching.” This on one hand means, teacher is respected more if he does much better in the quality and quantity of his teaching, and the dignity and grandness of teacher shall be respected by the students on the other hand. If we convert the above saying to “teachers’ dignity” in an artistic way, it requires teachers to be good in knowledge and morality. If we put it more deeply: teachers shall have the artistic creation and teaching concept synchronizing with the times. Excellent artists and excellent teachers bring out the best of each other. They grow together.

Painting Department of SCCM Chengdu Academy of Fine Arts takes the leading role in open and new teaching concept and a experimental teaching brand. From the structure of qualified teachers of the Painting Department, we have outstanding arts educator and world-known artists as well as a team of young force, and they are honored painting teachers in China. This exhibition is on one hand to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the school and share the happiness with all students and craft brothers and on the other hand provides a high quality artistic feast to extend our thanks to the industry and the society. Teaching is ceaseless and learning is boundless. “We are students today and will shoulder the society tomorrow.”—The Song of Graduates is the praise for teachers and unfolds the dream for future.
