Chen Zhou has been experimenting with aesthetic language in his video works since 2010. Trough exaggerated or simplified forms of semiotics, these works attempt at dissociating, reassembling and reproducing narrative structure.
Chen uses theterm “hedonism” in describing this stage in his career, which expresses his uncertainties in aesthetic
value in his work, and at the same time presenting to us, the anxieties that he faces.
In the solo exhibition at Magician Space - I’m not not not Chen Zhou, the artist focuses on his colleagues, friends  and curators. Chen describes this work as a “yellow journey”. The fragments of “you” and I, and the self and I in this  new work, together with the indistinct connections within these relationships, reveal the artistic journey that this Chen
Zhou who is not Chen Zhou is about to embark on.
