窥视的窥视

                读桂小虎《勿视》系列

 

性与暴力恐怕真是永恒主题，亦且两相纠缠。桂小虎的《勿视》系列并非仅在描绘性事，而是饮食男女忽然遭遇窥视与侵入——这也是暴力。暴力，即便以法律或道德的名义，但每一对正在交媾的男女——不论是夫妻、恋人、嫖客、“性工作者”，还是偷欢的人——都会被严重伤害，承受难以启齿无可化解的羞耻。

性从来伴随羞耻，不过有谁想过窥视与闯入也是一种羞耻行为，或曰：“行为的羞耻”么？就我所知，赣南乡间的古老风俗倒是从另一面确认了这种羞耻，即凡目击性事的人，将由当事人贡献一碗鸡汤，算是安抚。然而《勿视》系列中的闯入者是另一回事。

年初香港影星陈冠希的“艳门照事件”，不在性，而在当事人的声名，尤在这名人的性私与羞耻成为公众的消费，其消费链，是图像得以无限繁殖的网络高科技。虽然大量流传网络的“扫黄”照片主角都是无名者，但羞辱并不因此减弱。倒霉的当事人已被羞辱一次，上了网络，这羞耻于是成为任人观看的展览。

庞贝城妓院墙头残留的春宫画，是古人坦然欢娱的记录；中国春宫画则一半是性教育，一半为了赏悦。当代绘画的性主题纷然杂陈，但不敌影像中的性那般深刻而具有攻击性。桂小虎《勿视》系列可能涉及三重暧昧：其一，他的素材来自扫黄图片，这是绘画与图象的纠葛；其二，他选择并再现这些图像，本身即构成再度窥视；因此其三，这一窥视，奇异地，使性与暴力的主题隐含社会批判，而在凸现道德困境的同时，作品本身被置于道德的困境。

艺术经常意味着暴力，兼具诱惑，类似性。《勿视》系列自身即携带暴力与诱惑。差不多每位写实画家都被性素材——描绘女性裸体，甚至描绘性事——所诱惑。道德的部分内涵是对诱惑的克制、抵御，艺术的部分动机则是对道德的冒犯——所谓扫黄人员比床上的男女更道德吗？而艺术在冒犯道德的同时，有可能试图以不道德的方式寻找道德。

观看永远是诱惑，绘画源于观看。当我们眼看这些画面，一如我们撞见，或故意撞见他人的性事。是回避还是观看？古训是“非礼勿视”，但这句话说出了观看的困境，这困境，可能是绘画的理由——也可能是罪恶——之一。

The peep of peep
----------Reading Guixiao Hu’s "Do not watch" series

Sex and violence, that is an eternal theme and the two-phase struggled together. Although a large number of protagonists in "vice" photo which spread in the network are unknown, but the humiliation is not weakened. Unfortunately, parties have been humiliated once, but on the network the shame become an exhibition for everyone to watch.
The erotic paintings on the wall Pompeii brothel City remnants is the record of the ancients frankly sex; Chinese erotic art is half sex education and half in order to reward Wyatt. The theme of contemporary paintings come ran, but lost in the image of so profound and offensive. Gui Xiaohu’s "Do not watch" series may involve triple ambiguous: First, the material from his anti-vice picture, this is painting with images of disputes over the other; secondly, he has chosen and reproduced these images, it constitutes a peep again; Thirdly, the peep makes the theme of sex and violence implicit social criticism, and in highlighting the plight of ethics at the same time, the works themselves were placed in a moral dilemma.
Art often means violence, the temptation and similar nature. "Do not watch" series carry violence and temptation on the campaign. Almost every realist painters have been temptated by depicting naked women,or depicting sexual.
The moral is a self-restraint to temptation and part of the art is an offensive to moral –so, the so-called anti-vice officers are more moral than the men and women in bed? When the art is  offensing the moral, at the same time, it may be trying to find ways to moral immorally.
watching is always the temptation, and painting originated from watching. When we saw these pictures, as we watch, or deliberately watch others’ sexuality. Is evasive or watch? As the saying goes:"Do not watch unless courtesy", but this sentence tell us the plight of watch, this predicament may be the reason for painting –may be evil – or one of them.
