前言

“花”无论是作为自然界植物形态的花，还是人文学科中艺术性的花，都和人有着非常密切的关系，尤其是女人，一生下来就注定与花有着不解之缘。花与女人好像有一种天然联系，一种生物形态的相似性，但似乎又是一种人文的结合、一种社会文化意义上的强加。

吴争艳在花布上的创作，利用女性的敏感和独有的视觉，为人、花与物之间筑起了一道微妙的缘分。驻足在作品面前，就如身处万花丛中。本以为只是大红大绿的艳丽，却又会在花叶之间猛然寻获生活中熟悉的大小事物，或是超女的麦克风，或是陪伴着中国儿童成长的肯德基爷爷，或是羞涩的花季少女……细节之处，满溢浓浓意趣，叫人忍俊不禁，那种惊喜不亚于乏味生活中突然出现的金色云彩。

 如今，花布对于吴争艳而言已从单纯的载体，转化为作品的重要组成部分。而随着创作的日渐成熟，作品的关注点也从对自我情感的表达，逐步转向对社会的感受，以及其作为80后独生子女对于生活状态的思考。

In the realm of nature,science or even art, there seems to be a close relationship between flowers and human-being. Their similarity is especially clear between flowers and women who imply the biological and cultural characteristics of each other.

The paintings on the floral cloth by Wu Zhengyan have built up some delicate intimacy between human-being, flowers and objects.  Standing in front of her art work, audience would be astonished by not only the bright colors but also the details hidden behind the flowers and leaves. The details from the microphone of "Chinese Talent Show" to grandpa Colonel Sanders in KFC, have cleverly interspersed charm and humor into the paintings.

As her work getting more mature, floral cloth has turned from just a medium of her work into an important element of her painting. Moreover, the focus of her themes has turned from self-expressions to her view of the society and experience as a single child born in the 80s.
