建筑需要休息 

     很少有建筑师有时间来考虑他们正在设计或追求什么。 当设计项目时，我们总是受害于关于形式，政治，实践和其他技术观点的无休止讨论，而所有的加起来的更大图景却是作为一个模糊的无形计划挥之不去。 

不只是为了展示我们自2009年创立PWFERRETTO建筑工作室以来完成的20个项目，而是我们选择了“STOP”，并回过头来重新审视这总体而言意味着什么。 本次展览是一次精神清洁行动，一种清洁思想、硬盘、概念和模型的过程，这将绝对不是感性和怀旧的，而是树立一种像处理废弃物一样的感受的气度意识和解放意识。 

“STOP”是一个独立的项目，一个运用建筑项目作为元素来构成一个片段的项目。图像不再是空间和建筑的体现而是转化为个人体验。建筑师已经习惯于和善于通过虚拟媒介来沟通;从渲染到动画虚拟工具做出一个人工和制造环境的现实。“STOP”旨在改变这种模式并且制造出幻境，使我们看见从来没有见过的，隐藏空间。

艺术家简历

    PWFERRETTO是一个总部设在韩国首尔的建筑工作室，由Peter W. Ferretto来领导。工作室积极从事创作建筑，被理解为我们居住的栖息地的建筑。 自2009年成立以来，PWFERRETTO与它的合作伙伴一起已经设计了20个项目，在这里首次一起呈现。

Peter W. Ferretto 1972年出生于曼彻斯特，成长于意大利科莫。 1990年，他回到英国，在利物浦和剑桥大学学习建筑学。 他曾在许多欧洲城市生活和工作，包括巴黎，马德里，巴塞尔和伦敦，在那里他曾负责多个国际建筑项目。

“STOP”  Architecture needs a break

Rarely do architects have time to contemplate what they are designing or pursuing.  Whilst developing projects we fall victim of endless discussions about formalistic, political, practical and other tactical arguments while the bigger picture of what does it all add up to is left lingering as a blurred intangible plan.

Rather than represent the first 20 projects completed since we opened the architectural studio PWFERRETTO in 2009, we have chosen to “STOP” and look back to reassess what it could all mean.  This exhibition is a mental cleaning act, a process of cleaning thoughts, hard drives, concepts, models which un-equivocally does not wish to become sentimental and nostalgic but install the same sense of vigour one feels when disposing waste, emancipation.

“STOP” is a standalone project, a project which uses architectural projects as elements to compose a piece.  Images stop being representations of spaces and buildings to transform into individual experiences.  Architects have become accustomed and dextrous in communicating via virtual mediums; from rendering to animations virtual tools have made reality an artificial and fabricated condition.  “STOP” seeks to change this paradigm and produce mirages that make one see what we could have never seen, hidden spaces.

Biography

PWFERRETTO is an architectural Studio based in Seoul, Korea led by Peter W. Ferretto.  The studio has an active interest in creating architecture, architecture understood as the habitat we dwell in.  Since its formation in 2009, PWFERRETTO together with its collaborators have assembled 20 projects which are here presented in unison for the first time.

Peter W. Ferretto was born in Manchester in 1972 and was brought up in Como, Italy.  In 1990 he returned to the UK where he studied architecture at both Liverpool and Cambridge University.  He has lived and worked in many European cities including Paris, Madrid, Basel and London, where he was responsible for several international architectural projects.  

He now lives and works in Seoul where he has his own architectural practice and is a full time Professor of Architecture at Seoul National University.  For further information, see www.pwferretto.com.
